Today in Math, we had our test on Rational Expressions. I don't think any of the students were ready for it. Everyone I talked to thinks they failed. Hopefully we will have a re-test in January sometime.

Wednesday, December 16, 2009

Today in Math, we just reviewed for our test tomorrow. The main theme is Rational Expressions, which I'm not very good at. I think I'm going to go to tutoring after school so I can learn a little more about how to simplify the expressions.

Tuesday, December 15, 2009

Today in Math, we started with mental math. It was last one on the sheet, so the students added up their average percentage. I got 77.5%, which I think is really good. The rest of the class, we learned about Cubes. We learned about their volumes, surface areas, and the relationships in 3-D objects. I think most of the students find it pretty easy.

Friday, December 11, 2009

Today in Math, most of the students had a re-test on Radicals. I didn't do it because I think I got a good mark on the test overall. I just worked on Accelerated math, I don't know how to do most of the stuff that's on it, so I'm just doing the stuff I do know, and then I'm going to ask Mr. Maksymchuk about the rest of it.

Thursday, December 10, 2009

Today in Math, we started with mental math. I was surprised because usually we never do mental math on Day 2 because of short blocks. That took most of the class. Mr. Maksymchuk gave us a Geometry worksheet to work on, it involves looking up some stuff on the Internet. I think it's due before Christmas.

Wednesday, December 9, 2009

Today in Math, we started with mental math. I did pretty good except on 1 question I had a bit of a brain fart. We learned more about Simplifying Rational Expressions. I think it's getting easier for the students each day. I know it is for me.

Tuesday, December 8, 2009

Today in Math, we skipped mental math because of the short blocks. We learned more about Rational Expressions. I understand the factoring part but I don't quite all the reducing parts.

Monday, December 7, 2009

Today in Math, we learned a bit more about Rational Expressions. It involves quite a bit of Factoring, which I am pretty good at. We had the rest of the class to catch up on Accelerated Math and the Accumulative Exercises.

Friday, December 4, 2009

Today in Math, we started to learn about Simplifying Rational Expressions. It helps me out because that's almost where I am in accelerated math.

Wednesday, December 2, 2009

Today in Math, we discussed a bit more about when our next few tests would be. I'm thinking about doing the re-test now because I didn't do too well on it, but I know how to do most of the stuff I messed up on. We had the rest of the class to work on accelerated math.

Tuesday, December 1, 2009

Today in Math, we did mental math. I got 100%. We had the rest of the class to work on accelerated math and accumulative exercises. I just finished a big exercise and started doing the test for it. We also got our tests back, and discussed when we would be having our next test. The test this Thursday is based on Trigonometry, but it's optional as only 4 students have done any Trig in accelerated math. I will probably be doing it as I think I'm good at Trig.

Monday, November 30, 2009

Today in Math, we skipped mental math as it was short blocks. We learned about Non-Permissable Values. It looks complicated, but it's fairly simple.

Thursday, November 26, 2009

Today in Math, we started with mental math. They were pretty tricky questions. We had the rest of the class as a work class. I thought it was really useful for all the students so they could catch up on accelerated math and the acumulative exercises.

Wednesday, November 25, 2009

Today in Math, there was a Pep Rally so we just solved a triangle with the Law of Cosines and then the Law of Sines.

Tuesday, November 24, 2009

Today in Math, we started with mental math. I've been getting quite a bit of 60 percents so I better start improving. After mental math, we learned about the Law of Sines and the Law of Cosines. They are both a bit confusing, but I understand the majority of it. I had been waiting for this for a while because they are involved in my objectives in accelerated math.

Monday, November 23, 2009

Today in Math, we skipped mental math because it was a short class. All we did was finish going over our last test. I think it helped me quite a bit with the stuff I didn't know. I'm still comtemplating as to wheather or not I should write the re-test. I'll have to see how good I did first, then my decision will be easy.

Friday, November 20, 2009

Today in Math, we started with mental math. We then started going over the questions that were on the test. I think it really helped the students that are thinking about re-taking the test.

Thursday, November 19, 2009

Today in Math, we talked about the test a bit. We then had the rest of the class to work on accelerated math or exercises.

Tuesday, November 17, 2009

Today in Math, we learned a bit more about Trigonometry. It is pretty easy for me. We have a test tomorrow, so I'm going to study hard and hopefully do decent.

Monday, November 16, 2009

Today in Math, we started with mental math. We then learned about Trigonometry and a bit about the Pythagoream Theorem. I remembered a little bit of the Trig from last year, but most of it was new to me.

Friday, November 13, 2009

Today in Math, we went over some more simplifying radicals. It's good timing for it because that's where I'm at in accelerated math. I'm also finishing up my test corrections.

Thursday, November 12, 2009

Today in Math, we started with mental math as we usually do on day 1's. We then had the rest of the class to work on accelerated math. I scanned my sheet and found out I did terrible, but I know what I was doing wrong, so now I'm doing great.

Monday, November 9, 2009

Today in Math, we started with mental math, I got 100%. After that we did some more Rationalizing Denominators. I also finished my test corrections. We found out that our next test is post-poned again until next week.

Thursday, November 5, 2009

Today in Math, all we did was mental math because of the pep rally. It was the last one for the sheet we were on, so we added up our averages and I had a 94% average! Much better than last time.

Wednesday, November 4, 2009

Today in Math, we started with mental math. We then learned about Solving Exponential Equations and Rationalizing Denominators. I feel pretty good about it.

Tuesday, November 3, 2009

Today in Math, it was a short block. We didn't do any mental math. We just worked on accelerated math. I'm very happy with how I'm doing so far with it.

Monday, November 2, 2009

Today in Math, we started with mental math. We then reviewed a bit of simplifying radicals. We also had some time to work on accelerated math.

Friday, October 30, 2009

Today in Math, we had another work/catch up class because it was Friday and short blocks. I worked on accelerated math and I'm ready to test on several objectives.

Thursday, October 29, 2009

Today in Math, we started with mental math. I got 100% so I'm happy about that. We didn't have a lesson today, so we were able to catch up on some exercises and accelerated math. We need 45 or so mastered objectives by parent/teacher, so I think I'm doing good with 35 mastered objectives.

Wednesday, October 28, 2009

Today in Math class, we learned more about radicals. We did a worksheet that had quite a few questions on them. They're a bit different than what we did yesterday, and I understand them a lot better too.

Tuesday, October 27, 2009

Today in Math class, we started with some mental math, I did pretty good on it. We then learned about some rules of exponents. It involved radicals, and was pretty complicated but I understood some of it. Mr. Maksymchuk did some examples for the next assignment.

Monday, October 26, 2009

Today in Math class, we learned about Exponents and Radicals. I understood it. Probably because I've learned about it before. The teacher assigned us some homework so I'm pretty confident about that.

Wednesday, October 21, 2009

Today in Math, we skipped mental math and went straight to some review of relationships between parallel and perpendicular lines for our test tomorrow. The 3 types of equations are slope y-intercept form, standard form, and point-slope form. I understand a little bit of it, but I think I'm going to get some tutoring after school today so I can do decent on the test.

Tuesday, October 20, 2009

Today in Math, we started with some mental math. I had no trouble, but mis-counted on one question.. We learned about relationships between parallel and perpendicular lines. The teacher was saying something about a piano stool, but I don't know what in the world he was talking about!

Monday, October 19, 2009

Today in Math class, we started with some mental math. Most of it was easy for me, I just struggled with 1 question. We then went over some of the tough questions from the last 3 exercises, and a few from accelerated math : )

Friday, October 16, 2009

Today in Math class, we did mental math. We then learned some more tools to help us figure out linear equations. After that, we had some accelerated math printed for the weekend : )

Thursday, October 15, 2009

Tbday in Math class, we had a work class because quite a few students weren't in class because they were playing in the band. I worked on accelerated math. I'm very happy with the way I've caught up so quickly : )

Tuesday, October 13, 2009

Today in Math class, we learned a bit more about Linear Equations. The teacher tought us a useful tool, and we will be learning another tomorrow. We had no mental math today because it was a short class : )

Thursday, October 8, 2009

Today in Math class, we learned how to find the "slope" of a line segment. There are 3 different formulas so it shouldn't be too difficult to figure out. : )

Thursday, October 1, 2009

Today in Math class, we did mental math and had some time to catch up on previous work we may have not done or not understood completely. : )

Wednesday, September 30, 2009

Today in Math class, we learned a very easy way to find the distance between 2 points on a X-Y grid. Finally something I understand : )

Tuesday, September 29, 2009

Today in Math class, we learned a lot about the cartesian plane. It was a lot of review. We also learned about how to measure distance on a x-y graph. : )

Today in Math class we learned how to factor difference of squares. I learned a bit about this last year, so it's fairly simple. : )

Thursday, September 24, 2009

Today in Math class, we learned how to factor trinomials. I don't fully understand it yet, but I believe I will eventually. : )

Wednesday, September 23, 2009

Today in Pre-Calculus, we had a test on what we have learned so far in the course. I think I did alright on everything except the long division of polynomials. I got quite a bit of my accelerated math done after the test. : )
